What Are Second Degrees?

A Second Degree is a full undergraduate qualification for students who already hold a degree. Ideal for career changers or those adding new expertise, it offers a fresh academic path without repeating previous study.

Second Degrees are typically 3 to 4 years in length, depending on your chosen course with flexible study options such as daytime, evening, or weekend classes available—depending on availability and course structure.

In most cases, Student Finance England (SFE) does not fund a second undergraduate degree.
However, exceptions are made for specific subjects, meaning you may still be eligible for
tuition fee loans and maintenance support if you study one of the following:
